- Jim,

- That clue was important. Have spoken to some Newtek insiders on my own
- and whatever they end up showing off will not blow away or blow off a
- flyer in an Amiga. I think it's important to get that straight so there
- isn't a rash of A4000 sell offs and pissed Flyer owners. Whatever Newtek
- unveils, PC based or otherwise, certainly won't be delivered immediately,
- and those of us with existing Flyers and Toaster systems can start
- looking at our boxes for what they are, mainly non-linear editing
- systems instead of all purpose computers. Let's face it, I'm in my unit
- $22,000 and I have 100 minutes of BetaSp Flyer storage. That's still
- cheaper than a linear Betacam system and most other so called Broadcast
- non-liner systems on the market. The fallacy in a lot of our thinking is
- that we look at our Amigas as the be all and end all of computing.
- They're not and we shoudln't. At this moment, they're a powerful editing-
- animation tool with some useful other bells and whistles. Pricewise, for
- what they do in this regard, they're still a bargain.
